Jose Mourinho accepted responsibility for Real
Madrid’s 2-1 first-leg defeat to Barcelona in the
quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey, but insisted he
will not be affected by the club’s fans calling for a
more attacking style of play against the Catalans.
The Portuguese coach started with a combative
4-3-3 formation on Wednesday, leaving more
creative players like Mesut Ozil, Kaka and Jose
Maria Callejon on the bench. He told AS, “I always
understand the fans point of view, but I don’t
listen, not before and not after this game. The
responsibility is mine, particularly when my team
loses. Victory has many creators, but defeat only
one.”
