Arsenal defender Vermaelen fit to face Manchester United

Thomas Vermaelen will make Arsenal's clash
with Manchester United tonight.
The tough Belgian defender successfully passed a
fitness test yesterday and – provided there is no
reaction – he will start at The Emirates, says the
Sunday Mirror.
Manager Arsene Wenger will welcome back ­
Vermaelen after successive league defeats to
Fulham and Swansea.
In both matches, a lapse in defensive discipline
costArsenal dearly and Vermaelen’s influence
was sorely missed. With him, the Gunners have
tenacity to go along with his organising skills.
